OTAGIRI ROUTE 66 COMMEMORATIVE COFFEE MUG W/ ORIGINAL BOX DESCRIPTION This is a commemorative Route 66 coffee mug produced by Otagiri. The design is based on white color porcelain with scenes from the famed road and a map highlighting the states that the road travels through. It was designed by Stanley Papel, the king of coffee mugs. The cup measures 3" in diameter and 3 3/4" in height. It is in mint condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. It comes with its original box which has no crushes or tears. Stanley Papel joined his father's company in 1970 and was the first to introduce coffee mugs as a means of social expression. The company, Papel Designs, has gone through several changes including a name change over the years but is still run by Stanley and his daughter. Shelf: 20
