This vintage Oscar of New Orleans brooch features the artist’s highly sought-after fleur-de-lis motif in the classic black-and-gold palette. Oscar constructs his brooches using layered, hand-cut vinyl that is melted/fused in a toaster oven to create a glossy, dimensional surface. Natural wrinkles or ripples are a normal characteristic of this technique. I am the original owner (purchased December 2001). I wore this brooch only sparingly, so it remains in excellent condition.
