Up for sale is a large, beautiful stone plate with large orthoceras fossils in it. Orthoceras is a type of extinct mollusk, a cephalopod related to todays octopus, squids, and nautiloids. These creatures lived roughly 350 million years ago during the Devonian geologic time period. This fossil plate would make a great centerpiece, or would be great for fossil collectors.

Are the fossils manually set in the stone or did they form in stone naturally?

@quakemobile The stone was sediment on the bottom of a sea millions of years ago. The orthoceras would die and fall to the bottom. As time goes by their shells would dissolve and are replaced by minerals. The sediment over time, layer upon layer also becomes rock. This fossil plate is part of a deposit full of these orthceras fossils found in Morocco.
