Original Art Philodendron "Little Mama" April 2016 Pencil Drawing Framed Drawing 8-1/2" x 12" Frame: 14-1/2" x 11-3/4 x 1/2" In 2016, my husband and I moved from Chicago to Arizona and learned it was illegal to bring in plants over state lines there, so we had to find homes for our beloved plants. My husband's barber happily took them. "Little Mama" was the first plant I ever bought. I called her Mama because her cuttings created countless other plants. After reading The Secret Lives of Plants by Peter Tomkins, I realized plants were so much more aware and cognizant of life and their surroundings than I ever dreamed. One day, as an experiment, I went up close to Little Mama and whisper-invited her to hop on my energy and experience dancing. When I turned on the music and danced, I felt her tendrils radiate from my fingertips. It freaked me out!! But I was psyched. I drew all our plants before we moved and had to give them away.
