The item is made of clay pottery with an interesting painted decoration (see photos). The item is marked by the artist on the underside of the base (see photos of the marks). I do not know the tribal affiliation or the artist of this piece, but I have been told it may be by Jemez Pueblo of New Mexico (research to determine the maker and the tribal affiliation).
