They elongate the leg and the dark wash slims you in the meantime. They are high rise and so very comfortable. I bought these not realizing they were a short, but I'm 5'7" so they weren't perfect for me. No real distressing, just slight whiskering at the lips. The weight of the denim in these is a little lighter so it gives extra stretch and forgiveness. Button and zip front closure. The color is called River.
