cyndlyn @berlinshop18 I have been only using my phone and it is a pain in the butt. I have had to resort to finding similar things that others are selling and follow their likes. It has helped and I'm getting sales. I'm thinking about getting on my personal computer. Something I very rarely do. That or a laptop.

cyndlyn @berlinshop18 some people have had success with going to Poshmark through chrome on their phones. They said they can see the old format and still use the bulk share tool. I haven't tried it yet. I'm a glutton for punishment. Don't worry about asking too many questions. I think we're all feeling a bit lost right now.

I miss the followers section because it's where I always discovered random things new people- That's how you can see them still. I just wish Buyers would figure this out.

I'm trying to stay positive about the changes they've made, but some of it seems completely stupid and doesn't help with bringing in buyers. I heard the same thing about sharing. I've seen so many closets that have stuff listed and haven't been active in years. 🙄 They said they're going to get rid of the faux luxury sellers, but that's a lie. They just sent them to do live shows. Poshmark gives me something to do when my mom is sleeping or watching tv.

myfurryfamily @cyndlyn Some of the changes are annoying, sick of all the live shows and find myself watching for a minute (now with POSH having their own warehouse sales), then slap myself. I am still conflicted about sharing. When they removed the "community" feel, it deflated a lot of people's interest - it stood out from other sites, and addicted us all.

I tried selling big lots of jewelry. I even took the time to comp pieces and post the pictures of other people selling the same. It's not worth it...

My hubby always asks how it feels to make $2/hour for how much time I spend (until I sell something pricey, then crickets)

It was so much more than making money. If I do live shows it would be more like visiting with my friends & showing jewelry while we have fun.

So I ended up with all of their stuff along with my own. Then it was so much fun it grew from there. I figure if I wasn't doing this I'd be watching tv. 🤷‍♀️ This is at least somewhat productive. 😅

valleyofthesun_ @cyndlyn Yes, I have people like that. They usually do it with different sellers and like and re-like to keep their “Likes” in order. Some do eventually buy, but from someone else who will sell everything for pennies. My theory is they like your jewelry, they just want it for way cheaper…watch, mark one of your rings to 20 bucks and those people would be the first to buy 🤣🤣!

valleyofthesun_ @cyndlyn Yes, me, too!!! So those are scam websites and they will sell what you’ve listed for a fraction of what you’ve got them listed for…so for some buyers it seems legit because it is a bit cheaper, but not like too-cheap-to-trust-cheap.

valleyofthesun_ @cyndlyn I had one person actually buy a pendant I was selling from one of those sites…she told me about it and said I saw you listed as cheaper and bought there…I told her it wasn’t me! She went back to the site she purchased it from and they had deleted the listing. She was able to recoup her funds through her credit card company!

cyndlyn @valleyofthesun_yikes! That is so scary. 😱 My husband has mentioned that we need to put a watermark on our pictures so scammers can't use them for nefarious purposes. I think all the changes and weird scams with emails and all the other stuff is making me paranoid. 😅

cyndlyn @valleyofthesun_ I'm not tech savvy, so if he wants to do the watermarks or whatever, that's all him. I do the pictures and the listings. We share the sourcing and shipping responsibilities. 😁 I do think I might make a poster or add a comment on listings warning buyers not to click on links that have Poshmark photos. At least they have a warning. That is so scary.

The internet is an amazing thing, but it comes with dangers that are not easy to avoid. There's nothing stopping people from doing stuff like that. ameryjs Most of my listings have been stolen and are on random websites too- Photos and Copied descriptions word for word- I even put a warning paragraph in one of my listing descriptions and they copied THAT too- but where I stated "Only available here on POSHMARK"- They copied the warning but removed "Poshmark"- so it's very intentional.

cyndlyn @cjk5940 That's what I've been reading. The live shows are huge over there. I personally don't enjoy them. There are a few that are bullies. It's like mean girls and boys in high school. I don't want to be pressured to buy anything and I won't do that to make money from my own stuff. It is not my thing. If I do any lives it will be very laid back. No pressure sales.

cyndlyn @berlinshop18 It's not just selling on Poshmark. Scammers target anyone. They're not going to cause us any direct harm. The concern is that they will try to lure people using our photos and a cheaper price. Most people know not to click on random websites. I'm thinking about making a poster to warn people about it.

ameryjs Sometimes I wonder if some of these strange likers- or even some of the ridiculous low-ball offerers are actually the people running these weird websites- and they only do it to try to find your lowest offer price or what you'll accept- Then they price the stolen listings info below what they figured out you're likely to sell for.

ameryjs It's weird that they (for the most part)only seem to Target Poshmark listings (though I don't think that's a reason to leave Posh) I think they just know Poshmark won't assist with helping to get the stolen content removed (I have asked them to help and they offered no help unless it was another Posh account that had copied my stuff)

cyndlyn @nspearson I think they're charging people and not delivering the goods, or they're doing it to steal their personal information. My husband is in the tech industry. He said we would be surprised how much information they can get from a simple click onto their website. @berlinshop18 I made a fast poster. I will definitely make a better one, but I wanted to get it addressed quickly. With the holidays it might be worse.

valleyofthesun_ @nspearson They are getting people to buy without ever sending them anything. Like just straight out taking their money. I only know this because it happened to someone who was interested in one of my listings, but wanted it for cheaper so bought the item off one of those sites. Of course the site didn’t have it especially since it was a OOAK piece. She told me about it and I told her that it wasn’t me. Fortunately, she called her credit card company and they refunded her.

The format is driving me nuts. I've always shared lots of closets, but they've made it so difficult. I just can't do it anymore because the buttons are so small.

ameryjs @nspearson I think it's because Credit card companies are more lenient, but Debit card companies are denying charge backs if the merchant can supply proof of delivery! So they probably ship an empty package just for the tracking records. ..and if they are overseas they probably don't give a crap if people go through the trouble of filing police reports..and not enough people do anyway.

cyndlyn Thanks guys. 😘 I know there's a lot of questions about whether it's worth sharing. I'm a research nerd. I went digging for information online. What I've read is that sharing does make a difference with the algorithm and the visibility of your closet. I wouldn't continue doing this if I didn't think it would get better. I have been submitting my opinions to Poshmark, as are many others. Keywords are #1.

cyndlyn @myfurryfamily are upset about the removal of the boutique, but it's actually a benefit to them because the data showed that the majority of shoppers were filtering out boutiques. I hope that the people who put love into their boutiques will start seeing an increase in sales. I'm not making daily sales, but I'm getting just enough to keep me interested. My closet is enormous to me. 😅

cyndlyn @myfurryfamily that's why I think they did away with that category. They are hoping it will help move the inventory. I know a lot of people who have lost money on their boutique investment. I hope it helps you sell what you have. Poshmark pushing AI is on my nerves. I don't find it helpful for me. It could be just what I list, but the descriptions all sound the same. 🤣

ameryjs If your light is OFF you can pretty much count on an extremely slow week or month no matter what you do...and it seems like The huge Sellers have started to experience a bit of that on/off switch (where they probably weren't before. At least not to the extent of it being noticable) while us small sellers are used to it. So, the panic is gone, but the frustration/worry is still there.

Light On/Off meaning whether or not Poshmark (The Algorithm) has your closet light turned on (where all your items are easily seen) or Off (where your items aren't actually being shown to everyone).... almost as if someone would have to search your listing title word for word or else it doesn't show up to people in searches or appear in categories.

ameryjs @carlotta808 This algorithm On/Off thing for my closet (except for if it's a really bad month) usually averages to about 1 week on then 5 days off- to back on for a week+ then off for 5-9 days. It seems like they really push to a breaking point- Then suddenly sales will start coming one after another. Then back off again. I've just sort of accepted it is how it is... and try not to freak out anymore.

All the incentives are gone too, where you can pick certain ’prices’ etc. I agree with all of you. But I have to say the new format ( and who knows, maybe not all of us have it) I just got it maybe 3 or 4 days ago, is turning me really off. I will also wait and see how it’s going in the new year.
