OOAK Vintage Friendship Quilt Throw 45” X 59” Appliqué Signed Blocks Overall Sam

This unique quilt was purchased at the estate sale of a local avid quilter. (She also made the rainbow quilt listed separately.) The quilt consists of 12 “Overall Sam” blocks, each depicting the companion of the classic quilt icon “Sunbonnet Sue.” “Sam” has been appliquéd in a variety of simple settings. Other figures like pets, apple baskets, pumpkins, etc. are also appliquéd. 8 of the squares have a tiny faint signature of the maker. The squares have been stitched together, lined with a thin batting, and backed with a simple geometric print. The quilt has been tied with embroidery thread. Dated “2000”. Measures 45” X 59”.
