Please see photos for details & measurements. This is not a reworked item. This is a handmade one-of-a-kind jacket, made from vintage, pre-owned items and given a new life full of character and whimsy. It is a perfectly imperfect piece of wearable art. The back of the jacket is made from an old flour sack that we purchased from an Amish country antique mall. I have painted a sparrow on the back as well as on the arms, in screen print ink, which is heat set and soft to the touch. The shoulders have floral appliques and a denim star with a quote patch that I made, reading, "Spread love everywhere you go". On the front is another patch that I created (just like the ones I use on my top hats) that has a bird with a crown on its head. Pieces of embroidery are scattered on the arms and the front. An embroidered doily was used to make the pocket. The front is made from several vintage pieces of fabric: a quilt piece and vintage linens. The jacket has loose elastic at the wrists, and it closes with two buttons using velvet ribbon. Vintage crochet lace trims out the raw edges. The sides have a gathered strip that you can unbutton if you would like it looser. Many hours of slow stitching in different colors add to the unique character and design.
