It is set against the smooth Calfskin Leather. The Calfskin leather body is nicely structured. They still retain a light natural leather sheen! Amazing in the early 90's Italian craftmen for Coach's higher end collections produced this collection called Bridle Bags(Feed Sac Styled) Some with 'Highly Texured pigskin',*which deff catches the eye) It's woven vertically down 2 lines of textured pigskin on front and also 2 lines on back it is down both sides of width, & also the bottom of bag, & both straps have the texture as well Just to note, the Camel color bag shown was designed with no texured pigskin & instead has all smooth Structured Gorgeous Highend Calfskin throughout.
