OLD ENGLISH INITIAL "F" SILVER TONE TIE BAR - MbTDTr2

A classic style, this silver tone tie bar, made by Hickok USA, features an Old English font letter "F". The tie bar measures 1-3/4-inches wide x 1/2-inch high at the "F" letter. The tie bar is pre-owned and has light discoloration on the brushed square and on the open tie bar. I would rate this tie bar as fair to good condition. The use of initials can be traced back to the Greek and Roman era, during which coins were stamped with the king’s monogram. However, it was only in the Victorian era that they started being used for personal reasons. Anne Boleyn (circa 1500-1536), second wife of Henry VIII wore a necklace with the letter “B” in a painted portrait.
