The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), in partnership with Rhino Entertainment, Released Limited MetroCards honoring New York rapper Notorious B.I.G, a.k.a Christopher Wallace on what would have been his 50th birthday on May 21, 2022. Wallace grew up in Bedford-Stuyvesant in Central Brooklyn and released two Grammy-nominated studio records during his career, which was tragically cut short at the age of 24. His debut album, Ready to Die, has reached multi-platinum status and his follow up, Life After Death, is diamond certified. “Biggie,” as he was known colloquially, was legendary in New York’s rap music industry of the 1990s and is widely considered one of the greatest rappers of all time. The MetroCard has a portrait of Notorious B.I.G on the reverse side with a QR Code featuring 1 of his Songs. Only 50,000 was released. Get your piece of History!!
