I was going to close down for a day anyway. So this is a nice birthday present. No sales no salaries. I think management forgets that we have a lot of power. And we pay their salaries.

I think anyone who reads it will understand why your closet is on vacation. If we do a protest sign, I think it will be flagged to support and we might get in trouble. Believe me I wanted to be a lot more vocal, but Merrie helped me see how that could not work. I agree with her. Hope you understand. 💕💕

@poshglamgirl I am closing my closet at the end of the year. Poshmark hasn’t made me money for the last 5 years. They were not fiscally responsible when I bought into the IPO years back. I hate Poshmark & Manish for taking a golden parachute out of a company he ruined.
The reseller market exploded during COVID, so we are being outcompeted by thrift stores that caught on to Poshmark. I’m done spending hours of my day on this app to make a couple dollars a month. I don’t care if it fails.

I can not stand to see the common person being hit over and over again. I have to stand up for what i feel is right. there are many other online selling sites besides posh. just google it. so if this doesn't work, i'll go somewhere else. Maybe no social aspect is good. there's no high school drama when you're just selling. 💕

@maucri hi Maureen - I agree with you. Changes are being made without any input from us. They changing the whole platform. I think they want to take the social out of it. I've met some very good friends on Posh and I hate to see it changed. That's why I teamed up with @sweetstyle56 when she came up with this idea. One day out of 365 to close your closet down in protest. Some say it's not a big deal and nothing will happen. I guess, the founding fathers should have given up on a democray...

@maucri (2) in a republic. We'd all be living in teepees and ruled by the different countries who found the territory. There are so many examples of push back. If we don't do something than no one can complain. You do what you think is right. If you want to close your closet for ONE DAY do it. You won't be missing a sale. Im in! I truly feel unheard. I too have begun to wonder if it’s all worth it considering the low volume of sales in the past 2 years. I closed my closet for almost 2 months for health reasons and I don’t think I missed sales because they were so low anyway. I really tried everything I could think of!! @sweetstyle56 No worries. I completely agree. The attitudes on Reddit were very disappointing. It seems like some people are afraid to rock the boat. Personally, the boat is capsizing so I don't feel like I have anything to lose. Everyone assumes it's because I'm not making money, but that is not true. The community matters to me.

@sweetstyle56 I have been getting c tons of sales since I came back from vacation . 3 today I’m just not sure I want to close my closet tomorrow I don’t believe it will make a difference with 11 million people on poshmark the very small amount who would be closing is like a pin head and will cause no difference to them . Sorry guys I don’t think this is going to do anything . Don’t be mad at me or block me .

@maucri they must think their algorithm can do a better job... I think what's so hard is spending all that time energy effort cultivating and forming relationships and a following to suddenly have it null and void. I also think they are trying to get more people using "promoted closet" where they boost your listings for a hefty sum (depending on the size of your closet)! 😲

@msplf1949 the new feed no longer shows listings just shared by the closet owner or by someone else... its just in categories by brand and buzz words, e.g. Wedding Guest. I notice that items don't change much, the top one could be there for an hour or more... even when refreshing!

@peggy1658 @sweetstyle56 While I believe it is unthinkable what Poshmark is trying to do to the platform and the algorithm which took us all so long to learn, I believe it is too fresh and at this time still considered too temporary to take a stand when we don't even have the whole truth yet. Therefore I will not be closing my closet or closing the Nifty 50's tomorrow but I applaud your passion and perseverance! I may be joining you in the near future babes!

@gems_m You should do whatever you think is right. But, yes, it's small changes now, but there are bigger ones to come. I feel they are trying to take the social out of poshmark. So be prepared there will be more and more changes without our approval. I feel we need to show a stand now. I was going to close my closet anyway because it's my birthday. When @sweetstyle56 made the poster she didn't know it was my birthday. I hope you get lots of sales tomorrow. 💕

@gems_m one must absolutely do what is best for them!! a drop in the bucket eventually overflows... if you have the new feed you'll see that promoted items hang out at the top of a brand category forever and may not have been shared in hours or even weeks.... it's just not what I think this platform is all about.
