This amazing vintage Nippon moriage ewer came to me via a high end estate sale, with no accompanying provenance so I am unable to ascertain the exact time period in which it was created. The patient, detail-oriented workmanship is clearly evident, and I love the earth tones with just the briefest splashes of blue (for sky) and red (for fire?). You can almost feel the drama and history pouring from its spout.
