And although the impending year is of the Tiger, the Lion will still make an appearance during the build-up to the event — and even in Nike’s footwear line-up, with this new kids-exclusive Air Force 1 Low CNY “Lion Dance” Though it’s extremely busy for a sneaker, the resemblance to the overtly decorated Lion is minimal in comparison, but it aims to capture the essence of the costume through embroidery, fur, and even faux whiskers. The latter is seen just below a jade-colored nose and bold black eyes, with colorful embroidery working back towards furry ears at the midfoot. All of this rests atop a vivid gold canvas upper and bold blacks across the Swooshes, heel overlays, and laces. Deep reds continue the festive theme across the liners, while a modified 王 (King) tongue tag honors the beast.
