@ emilyannperry the best advice I can give you,that was given to me when I first started, is if you are selling things, share your items with your followers daily. Because you get new followers on a daily basis. And if I was you, I would not do any trading. I've heard bad things! Good luck to you! I recently made my 1st sale. I'm still new too. Just joined about a month ago.

Really? What's so bad about trading? I probably wouldn't have traded anyway so I'm glad you confirmed that for me! How did your first sell go? Was everything pretty easy?

Emily, when you are responding to people on your item do this (@aprildhamby) that tags their name so they get notified that you are speaking to them. First peice of advice.

@aprildhamby that's a good suggestion, I didn't think about that. Thanks so much! :)

Also just to go a little further with the trading issue, I have traded several times and have been super lucky so far. In my opinion it is a good way to get something you want and get rid of something you dont for just $7.00 shipping for each person. Some people dont do it because they are afraid of getting scammed, and that is a true possibility, but if you look through the sellers page and all their items that have sold you can kinda tell what kind of person they have been to others. Then you can make a judgement call at that time, to trade or not to trade. :)

Follow as many people as you can if you are trying to sell, and share others items and in return they will share yours to their followers that might not ever see your items without their share :)

Try to post your items for sale, like an outfit so buyers can see what it would look like together. Maybe even model your clothes.

@aprildhamby you're right, it does depend on what kind of person someone is and what their track record of selling items looks like. Could you explain to me how shipping an item works? I read the FAQ but still couldn't quite figure it out for some reason... You get the boxes from the post office, but Poshmark mails you a shipping label? Then you drop off the packages at the post office/schedule a pick up? Also, once someone has received the package, they have to come back to the website to select the "received" button (or whatever it's called) before payment is released to the seller. Couldn't they just keep the item without ever clicking the button so the person doesn't get their money? I hate to be so skeptical of the website because I think it's an awesome idea (and I plan to list some items tonight when I get home from work), I just want to make sure nothing will go wrong on either side! :)

Dont worry I had some of the same concerns, but you just gotta get started and some of those go away. When you buy my item, I get an email with a shipping label to you. I take the item to the post office (or if small) put in the mailbox, then I click the button that says shipped on my end. You will get an email that says your purchase has shipped, with a tracking number so you can see where it is at. Once you receive it, you click the button that says accepted and I get paid. If you keep the item for more than three days and never hit the accept button, Poshmark automatically thinks that you are satisfied and they give me your money even if you havent pushed the accept button. So as long as the items you ship out are what they were supposed to be then you should get paid regardless.

There is also a button to email order issues for sellers/buyers, but I have found Poshmark to be super slow geting back to you with resolutions. Like a week or longer slow, so I wouldnt expect a fast quick fix for any errors, or issues. Just Saying :)

@aprildhamby okay one last question :) When I sell an item, it can be used as credit on the website or can go into my bank account, correct? I haven't made a sell yet, but once I do, I "Redeem" the money and type in my bank/debit card info and it goes into my account? I'm a little confused as to how that works, too.

I'm not super sure about that, so far I've spent all mine 😄

@aprildhamby haha i don't blame you! I read it again and it says they can send you a check if you'd rather do it that way, which is probably what I'll do. Again, thank you for all your help!

@fibz that's what i've heard! it seems it takes a few days to really get on your feet by using this. i still have a toooon of stuff to upload, i just haven't gotten around to it yet, so i hope that once i do, things will pick up!

@emilyannperry also join every party you can. Wait till the last few minutes to share your stuff that way it's at the top of the list :). Follow as many people as you can and I agree with above, trading is ok as long as you check the people out. I've done several trades just never do it away from posh. Don't let someone talk you into PayPal for trades. Or anything really. PayPal is against posh rules and they have closed down some people for using it :) hope this helps :)

@emilyannperry my pleasure. Also seems the more you have the better you'll do. And offer bundle discounts to those who want more than one thing from your closet. Helps make the sell :) especially with the shipping :) and be careful with packages over 3 lbs, the seller pays the extra shipping for that :) so make sure you weigh if you think you'll go over. :)

@emilyannperry if someone wants you to pay PayPal watch out! They get their money and do not send! Look at other items they have sold and comments! I have bought things and person never responded but got refund by posh! I have been sold fake things and was able to return by posh.
