Naturecraft "Late Homer" Handpainted Stoneware Figurine #834 Vintage 1970's

Naturecraft figurines produced in Congleton, England, are known for their intricate hand painted everyday scenes or characters. This humorous Fancier figurine depicts an old man gazing skyward, possibly looking for a pigeon. There is plenty going on on this scene.... a dog with his bowl and just inside the doghouse... pigeons... chopped logs and axe... pigeon transport basket... and the man himself dressed in typical and wonderful attire, including his cigarette behind his ear and cap on his head. This intricate and creative piece was made for showcasing in a curio cabinet, a shadow box, displaying on a mantel or shelving unit. This vintage piece is a must-have for the collector who appreciates quality craftsmanship and attention to detail shown in this hand-painted stoneware. Please see photos.
