The torso and arms are too long on my petite frame, but otherwise this dress is stunning. The damage is so far down a longggg train that unless you're exceedingly tall, it will be cut off for hemming anyway. It looks like maybe a steam melt-burn. Looks and feels like high quality silk/raw silk. Color more beautiful in person. Reposhing this item I purchased from @greencasegirl. Loved it, but ready to rotate for something new. Questions?
