1953 by the National Cash Register Company as an award or a retirement gift for an employee! It uses the standard Pennwood Numechron movement. The two pull-out drawers are green felt lined, functional and can be used for storing stamps, paper clips, etc. The two drawers must be completely removed in order to gain access to the number wheels so the clock can be set. The electrical cord is in great shape, with no cuts, kinks or other damage at all. This clock is heavy for its size, weighing just under 5 pounds, and stands about 7" inches tall. This clock is very well made and definitely not a massed produced item! The case is fabricated from sheet metal that was stamped and then welded or riveted together. The drawers and bottom section were produced as a unit, and the pieces were numbered to keep them together. Each of the cash register buttons were cut from plastic rod stock and individually glued into place, and the numbers on them were hand drawn!
