pw46712052 @missink3383 Hey, yes you place water and essential oils in the small tank under the mermaid. The top portion pulls off, just gently pull up on the mermaid statue to remove the top then there is a tank w a small lid on it, remove the lid add water & oil and reassemble. There are adjustable levels for the intensity of the diffusion on the front of the base. I added more pictures so hopefully w those pics this will all make sense. But definitely let me know if you have more questions! 😍
