@irena_andrey They are so sweet! The third picture is my bottle boy, he had a rough start to life but currently the plan is to raise him for a possible herd bull replacement. We do name them lol, occasionally they end up named just by their tag numbers but for the most part they are all named. The newest ones aren't named yet but will get named as we get to know them and my bottle boy is Lucky but I call him Sweet Potato ๐

@irena_andrey Actually he was born in July from a momma that we had just recently purchased, her genetics and who she was bred with were important to add to our herd but since she was raised on our farm we didn't ensure she was supplied with all her proper minerals and it seems like she had a vitamin A deficiency so he was born almost blind among some other disabilities! We attempted to get the momma to take him for several weeks but eventually he just needed to be raised without her.

@irena_andrey He has recovered almost 100% and momma has joined the rest of our herd and should have no additional problems in the future with calves.

@irena_andrey That should have said she wasn't born or raised on our farm! Our cows are given multiple minerals year round so she wouldn't have likely had a vitamin a deficiency had she been raised here ๐ We had 2 more calves born overnight so I'm a bit tired ๐ด

@irena_andrey Thanks, we had 1 more born late this morning ๐ It's been a busy few days around here! I did run your boots to the post office this morning though! I was raised in the cattle industry but left home almost 20 years ago (๐ณ)and went to college, started a family and then about 8 years ago my husband decided he wanted cows and here we are ๐
Totally worth it though! I truly love farming and my cows!

@irena_andrey I truly hope you love them and can make them work! I sent them in one of my Lucchese boot boxes. I don't typically keep boxes but held on to one so I figured I'd pass it along to you so even though it's not an Old Gringo box they fit perfectly and should arrive safely!

@vampirella_1 ๐ Ohhh more leopard!! I'll be checking them out!! I am in love with the boots, seriously they are awesome! Turns out the trim on your boots is identical to my Creations by Lama ponyhair pair so they are best buddies in my closet ๐ I've done so good cleaning out my closet so my favorites can truly shine, still have more to go but I'm enjoying being able to see my favorites at all times ๐

I almost wore them the very next morning, but I had to stop myself cause I had a meeting at work and I had to be in heels ๐ but I just absolutely love them theyโre safely tucked away on my boot shelf with all the rest of my cowboy boots. I canโt imagine my self ever wanted to get rid of them, but if I ever decide to Iโll give them right back to you ๐๐

@elliekeeter We have about 30 momma cows who give us babies every year. We keep 2 bulls that we put with our herd 2x a year so we have fall and spring calves. We raise them and usually sell our females to other farms as replacement heifers, some we keep for our own herd. The bulls are either raised as bulls and sold when they are older or they are castrated and raised as steers for eventual slaughter.

@elliekeeter Farming is a wonderful thing! It's a very large commitment and harder work than most realize but incredibly rewarding as well! Maybe you wouldn't be allergic to farm animals ๐ค I'm honestly not sure if they produce the same type of dander like a dog or cats does

@meekasmom Hi ๐ We have almost 60 total! It's a bit more than we usually keep but last year threw everything for a loop so we have held some for longer than normal! Once spring gets here we should drop back down to about 45, which is where I like to be! Too many becomes a lot more work than I can comfortably keep up with ๐

@lboyd623 I had Longhorns in what I call my other life. Ex husband had roping steers and I made the heifer my own . She had 3 calves before we divorced. I was totally in love with those babies . ๐

@porta962 oh I can't imagine not having my cows anymore! longhorns are absolutely beautiful, we have a neighbor who raises them and I love seeing all the colors of the new calves! he has a charlois bull which makes some beautiful babies!

@lboyd623 well , I didnโt have a choice . They would have frowned on me having cows in the condo I moved into . Lol! There are many ranches out here with Longhorns. I get to see the babies when I go into town . And I can sit on โ Redneckโ:once a month if I want to . Heโs a huge steer that belongs to a man in Bandera. Iโll try to post a pic on my closet profile so you can see me on him :) heโs just beautiful.

They all have names and they are spoiled rotten and treated as pets lol It is extremely important to me that they are raised knowing nothing but love and I remind myself that they live wonderful lives and have 1 bad day at the end! I can't always control where they go once we sell when we have too but honestly I do my best to ensure they are treated well and loved for what they provide!

@rclarke27 We luckily sell registered cows so most buyers have a similar mindset. Maybe not quite as crazy as me ๐คช but it's a better way for me to try and make sure I know how they are raised after they leave here

hi, just saw you liked the farmhouse painted dish. I really cant discount it any further, its actually a very nice piece and artist is well known in CT area. look through my Closet though, you may find something to bundle with it to save. fyi we have a herd of 15 whiteface herferds. @brendavblue oh my goodness Herefords are my absolute favorite cows ever! I am down to one beloved red/white Hereford and 1 black/white face Hereford but I miss having a full pasture of those pretty white faces! A majority of our herd has moved to Murray Greys since my husband fell in love with the breed but I will always be a Hereford gal at heart โค I collect Hereford stuff since I can't ever get enough ๐
