Dal Borgo, Venice, Italy – This Murano glass aquarium paperweight captures the beauty of koi fish swimming in a serene underwater scene. Crafted in Venice, Italy, and attributed to A. Dal Borgo, S. Croce 552 Venice (possibly was a retail location, not there any longer), this petite piece displays the artistry and skill that Murano glass is celebrated for. -Origin: Murano, Venice, Italy -Artist/Attribution: A. Dal Borgo -Design: Koi fish swimming inside a clear glass orb with blue “water” base -Measurements: Approx. 2.25" in diameter with flat bottom -Condition: Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Small scratch/scuff, not deep (see last photo, circled in green). Has some random bubbles trapped within the glass. Displays beautifully with vibrant colors. A wonderful addition to any Murano glass collection, paperweight display, or aquarium-themed décor, this piece embodies the timeless artistry of Venetian glassmakers. A great-aunt had brought several gifts back with her from her travels, with tags that noted A. Dal Borgo and Murano on them. Her trip to Venice was sometime in the 1970's I believe. There is no tag on this one, but there were two other nearly identical paperweights (that unfortunately, I don't own) that still had the label, so I'm pretty sure of it's origin.
