@paigeharcourt I looked up a description online that says "The jacket's insulation is designed to keep you warm without adding unnecessary bulk, while the underarm ventilation zips allow you to regulate your body temperature as needed" I can say from personal experience I usually just wore long johns underneath, if it was an exceptionally cold day I would wear a zip-up Patagonia but even still I found myself overheating lol. I would say it alone should keep you warm enough! Hope this helps:)
