@audette hi there! I'm so sorry I missed your message yesterday! It is organic cotton but is considered a "relaxed fit" shirt. My little guy goes betwen 2t and 3t depending on the band and these 2Ts seem to fit him well with some room. I always wash his cotton stuff on cold and hang dry
