A rare piece of mid-century modern jewelry from acclaimed jeweler and artist H. Fred Skaggs (?-1983). Skaggs was one of the most influential mid-century modernist jewelers, known for his bold silverwork and modernist design sensibility. After moving to Arizona in 1956, he became recognized for his sculptural, handmade jewelry that embodied the spirit of the studio jewelry movement.
This striking sterling silver ring features Skaggs’ signature textured silver band, set with multi-colored tourmaline nuggets and quartz cabochons in organic bezels. The asymmetrical placement of the stones and the bold modernist styling showcase the artistry and craftsmanship that defined Skaggs’ work.
Skaggs’ pieces are highly collectible and rarely surface on the market.
