Peyote stitch is a type of off-loom bead weaving technique used to create intricate patterns with small seed beads. The name "peyote stitch" comes from its historical use by members of the Native American Church for decorating ceremonial objects. The stitch is also called the "gourd stitch" because it was used to decorate gourds. The technique has been found in beadwork dating back to Ancient Egypt and has been used by Native Americans for centuries.
This bracelet features a geometric chevron pattern created with the peyote stitch.
