This is a larger example of the Chinese Ming dynasty, porcelain shard boxes. Each box is individually made to fit the porcelain shard from the Ming dynasty collection. The Ming dynasty porcelain dates from 1368 through 1644. This box was purchased at the Museum of Fine Art in Boston During an exhibit of Ming dynasty porcelain. This is a larger example of these boxes. Each box individually made to fit the shard one corner has what looks like a ding, but it may just be a corner to fit the shard see photos.
