It is made of the classic Ming Wang acrylic/polyester blend that is machine washable. The 3/4 sleeve sweater has a front hook closure. There is a pewter metal chain detail down the front of the lapels. There are small shoulder pads in the jacket which can easily be snipped out if you don't want them.
