Milk Glass Platonite Vase Vintage 1930's Columned Scalloped Edge Art Deco

This stunning vase with deco vibes features vertical columns that begin at a scalloped rim and narrow as they reach the round base. It was made by the Hazel-Atlas Continental Can Company and is actually made from platonite - a form of milk glass that is see-through (hold this piece up to the light), stronger than, and cheaper to make than regular, thick milk glass: in fact, Hazel-Atlas made most of its profits through the sale of platonite which was introduced in 1936. The vase was made through a pressed glass process that involved molds. Excellent condition: no chips, cracks, or signs of wear.
