Miguel Cruz vintage sweater. Circa possibly early 80s. Grandpa style Mohair blend, although the fabric tag has been removed. Unlike most more hair sweaters, this must be a blend because it’s very very soft. Deep V with three button closure Black sequin embellishment throughout. All sequence seem to be attached. Cuban designer. Though Cruz made his name in Italy, he was born in Cuba and began his career studying fashion in Paris at the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. After finishing his studies he worked at both Castillo and Balenciaga, and in 1963 moved to Italy to work as a freelance designer for several Italian companies. He eventually settled in Rome where he launched his own lines of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear.
