Mid-century Aztec calendar wall plaque

Vintage Mexican souvenir plaque designed in the style of the Aztec/Mayan calendar. It is a decorative mid-century piece, made to resemble carved jade or turquoise mosaic. Central profile bust of Aztec/Mayan deity or ruler, surrounded by glyphs resembling the Aztec Calendar Stone. Green, speckled surface made from crushed stone composite (stone chips mixed with resin). Back is smooth composite with faint marking and a loop for hanging. Lightweight. Collectible as vintage Mexican folk art.
