Midcentury 1940's Silver Filagree Brooch - Set with Blue stone

Beautiful and well made classic silver brooch, marked 1000. Probably early 1940's. The mark 1000 was often used in Asia, Thailand in particular. The lovely granulation and detailed wirework. The brooch features a decorative technique of using fine metal wire and twisting it into intricate designs called - "cannetile". Some wear as might be expected of a vintage piece, but this only enhances the patina. The stone could be agate, or variegated glass, but it is a lovely deep moody blue. 1 3/4" wide and 1 1/4" tall. The back features a pin and coil closure.
