Vintage hammered solid copper leaf dish from the 1950s, signed by Gregorian Copper and retaining its original “Solid Copper – Made in U.S.A.” sticker. The dish is shaped as an elongated heartleaf philodendron leaf — a simple, recognizable form used often in mid-century décor because of its clean lines and universal familiarity.
This piece is hand-formed with deep veining, a curled stem loop, and the warm hammered texture characteristic of early Gregorian Copper. It works well as a trinket dish, candy dish, or standalone display piece, with enough depth to hold small items while still reading clearly as a sculptural leaf.
Gregorian Copper was a small family workshop founded in 1948 by brothers Thomas and Gregory Gregor in Southern California. They produced hammered copper household décor through the 1950s and 1960s, each item shaped and finished by hand. Their production volume remained modest, so each piece carries slight variations in hammering, curvature, and tone. The dotted signature on the underside is consistent with their early method of hand-punched marking.
The original “Solid Copper – Made in U.S.A.” sticker is still present on the back, and the surface shows authentic mid-century patina and light age marks. The overall tone is warm with no structural issues.
Size: approx. 8.75” long × 6” wide × 1.75” tall at the raised stem.
Condition: vintage condition with light patina, expected surface marks from age, and a bright hammered finish. No cracks or damage.
