Mid Century Modern spiral spinning earring display holder 1940s-1950s

This belonged to my mother. I was always fascinated by watching it spin. It made me think of Frank Lloyd Wright type of design. Good preloved condition. Signs of age on the top handle. Zoom in for details. It spins like new. She would have acquired this in 1940-1950s. It sat on her dresser next to her jewelry box. This is where I started my love of jewelry, especially earrings. It’s for holding clip or screw back earrings. This would be way cool especially if you have vintage earrings to display. It’s black metal. Fragrance and smoke free. Last photo is example of use.
