Mid Century Aluminum tray floral embossed

This is a 10 1/2 inch aluminum circular tray that is approximately 1 1/2 deep. It has 8 grooves along the rim which leads me to believe this originally was intended to be used as an ashtry. It has etched/embossed floral designs in the center which are hand painted with a bronzish color. The tray has nicks and scratches as well as patina in the center (I do not ever clean vintage items because many collectors want them in their original condition). I believe this would clean up beautifully but frankly my bohemian soul loves how it looks as is. It would be an attractive wall decor item, part of a vintage vignette or could be used as a terrific catch all at an entryway table, dresser or desk. Thank you for looking.
