Mid 20th-Century Hand Painted “Window Pane” Camellia Earthenware Jug - Japan

The past 70 years has been kind to this beautiful jug. There is a very tiny chip on the bottom rim, it truly does not hinder the beauty of the hand painted camellia flowers or the charm of the windowpane motif. Colors consist of a soft green background, brick red and blue flowers with darker green leaves. The mark on the bottom is smeared and unreadable. Many independent companies made these for export from Japan so it would be very difficult to determine which company made this jug. Measurements are 7” from handle to spout tip, 6” tall, and approximately 5” deep. Weight is 1 lb. Beautiful to use with a meal, for a sweet bouquet, or to display for admiring eyes!
