Mid 20th Century French Vannes-Le-Châtel Crystal Bear Shaped Ashtray

French Vannes-Le-Châtel Crystal Bear Shaped Ashtray. This beautiful pocket empty or ashtray in the shape of a bear is made in Vannes crystal. The Bear is in Very Good condition with minor imperfections including a few scratches of use on the bottom. The Maker’s Mark is stamped on the bottom “Vannes Le Chatel FRANCE”. The glassworks-crystal factory of Vannes-le-Châtel was founded in the middle of the eighteenth century, by the Countess of Mazirot de Reims, in the village of Allamps, in Lorraine. Since 1986, it has been a branch of the Daum De Nancy Company. The Ashtray measures 2” (5.08 cm) x 5” (12.7 cm) x 4” (10.16 cm). It weighs 13.32 ounces or 378 grams.
