“Melanie" Southern Belle figurine made by Summit Art Glass from 1980 to 1982. It is made of slag glass, featuring a creamy white and clear mixture, with brown slag variations also available. Summit Art Glass produced the "Melanie" doll as a monthly collectible, each in a different color. The design is believed to be copied from a German Dresden Doll. The mold was destroyed in August 1982, limiting the production run. A contest winner's initials, "SB" for Shirley Brown, appear next to the Summit logo on the base of some figurines.
