The brooch features Mekkala, the goddess of lightening. Mekkala(h), the Goddess of Lightning – shown with lightning bolts coming from her hand. A well known figure in Thai culture. This is by far the most common character depicted in Siam jewellery, and is the theme you normally see in Siam jewellery. This one is round shaped with cutouts along the body of Mekkala. I believe the left featured building is a temple. Marked as sterling and tested positive as such. I've hand polished it and it's in excellent condition. I have an ENORMOUS collection of Siam sterling pieces, keyword search with the "Siam" and the entire collection will come up. All of the Siam pieces in my shop are sterling.
