I hope I’m interpreting your question correctly on the drop on the Coach purse. From the middle of the handle to the top of the purse is 9”. It can be held over the arm or can be tucked underneath the arm and held closely. Let me know if this does not answer your question. Thanks for your interest in the purse! Beautiful color. @smceneany That’s the way I would normally carry it, a lot for safety reasons. I don’t like to carry a purse with it dangling from my hands or my arm. It tucks right under the arm pit area for lack of better description. Hope this helps!

I’m so glad you liked the bag. I believe I bought it about 25-30 years ago. I haven’t seen another bag quite like it. The kind of square look and the way it fastens appeals to me.
