ssmthrift I believe it can be thrown over the shoulder. It's 18" Long from the bottom center to the top. I think I would take into consideration my heighth if I wanted to use as a shoulder bag. 🤔 I hope this answers your question. Thank you! 😊 Betty

bamtdm Jane, in the event you decide upon the amethyst earrings, I wanted to point out the multi stone pendant that is a beautiful and also very reasonably priced piece that looks fantastic with these earrings.
