dancingqueen77 @poshndross the 20% is not a discount. If you are selling an item for $10 then your earnings on the sale would only be $8. Posh takes 20 percent as their cut. So when you list anything for sale or make an offer to buy, always keep this in mind. For instance you would not want to list something for say $3 because your earnings would be 5 cents. Hope that helps! You can always add items to a bundle which allows the seller to offer you a private discount if they like.

poshndross @tiarabee Hi Tiara! Thanks for your notes regarding your lovely jewelry on PM. I love the brass pin and the turquoise bracelet, but I think they're priced quite high. I've been an antiques dealer for about 40 years, so I feel I must warn you about appraisals. An appraiser will give you an item's INSURANCE VALUE, not the actual RESALE VALUE. Which means, they will tell you the price you might have to pay to replace your exact item.

poshndross However, the appraised price is almost always far above the price you can actually get when you try to sell your item at market. I used to accept consignments from other people, but I eventually stopped selling for other people, because they would take their items to be appraised and then their expectations would be set so ridiculously high that the market simply couldn't meet them. I'd always advise my clients to be realistic about the value of their treasures.

poshndross When you look for comparable items on eBay, look at what the items actually sold for, NOT the original price the seller was asking for. I think you'll find your lovely pin and bracelet are quite a bit higher than the selling prices on eBay, which are really the best measure of the market. poshndross @tiarabee I'm happy to help. Take a look at this item on eBay, and note the price it sold for: Art Nouveau Sash Pin Brooch with Art Glass Stone Brass Deco Vintage Sash Pin. And, here's an idea of price for your bracelet: Vintage Old Pawn Navajo FRED HARVEY ERA Old DK GREEN Turquoise NAVAJO Bracelet. These are just rough approximations, but they'll get you in the ballpark of what your lovely items are worth. I hope this is helpful!

poshndross @absaqt HI! I'm not familiar with all the rules and regs on this site. I just find things I like and buy them. I've had a few issues, and usually Poshmark does a great job of clearing things up and giving me refunds. You have to report any issues you have with an item you bought within 3 days of receiving it. Otherwise, you have no recourse via Poshmark. I hope this is helpful for you! Best of luck.
