@lillysheeka yes you are correct my bad I have two pockets watches one I'm not selling and this one I am please forgive me but there is just a little over a ounce of gold in it and if you run the case number on watch authentication site it gives a pretty cool history and the case designers history is truly fascinating

Very interesting.... thank you for the info.....I wish I could afford it. You might want to try and find somebody who knows about pocket watches and cases. Fahys marked there cases with the 14k,,,, they only made gold filled cases never solid gold. It was really odd that they marked them with the "14k". It still is a beauty though....

@michelle3167 Good morning... :) I did more research based on the case and the serial number of the inside movement. I did get confirmation that the case is gold filled. It will test positive due to the top layer of gold. Fahys never made solid gold cases. They were all gold filled and marked with the karat in this case 14K for the top out layer. I have my eye on it if you ever come down in price....your asking price is extremely high... Happy New Year!!

@lillysheeka I'm going to to keep it higher so whoever buys it won't melt it I also contacted a auction house in New York who might have a potential buyer who is a serious collector of fays and southbend I also think I might have found one of Jacob freys relation they are calling me tonight I just don't want it melted that's why it's a little above the price of the weight of gold in it

@jare1993 Back again with more questions... :) Have you had the case tested for gold purity by any chance. I don't see a "K" mark for the gold Karat purity. Most of the old cases were gold filled. The ware on the case looks like someone has scraped off the gold layer to get to a base metal to test it???? Okay sorry to be a pest but I just wanted to be sure for it's a lot of money... @lillysheeka hi I do not know how much gold is in it. I have never had it tested for gold value or appraised. What you're seeing on the back is residue, not the gold scratched off. The price is based on the watch brand itself and how much these watches are worth, even if just being sold for parts, not based on the gold value since I'm not sure of the exact gold value it has.

The ring is on its way to you!. It should reach you by Saturday. I asked my husband to try to look inside the band and he was confused. (Like I said earlier, it was purchased from a reputable Jeweler. He looked anyway and he could not see any markings on it. If you're not 100% thrilled, as I said, I will be happy to refund your money. The star sapphire is very eye catching and the white topaz sparkle very beautifully. Let me know how you like it. 🦋

@lillysheeka I'm sorry for the honest mistake. As I said, my husband bought the ring from a reputable Jeweler. Since I could not read the inscription, I assumed it was 14k white gold. I asked to you contact me to return it because I didn't want it to go on my permanent record as "item not as described" and negatively affect my future sales. I assured you I would accept the return.

@lillysheeka On a side note, my husband told me he paid way more than $52 for the ring when he bought it originally. So even though it is .925, it was actually a really good deal for that gorgeous, well-made ring. I will probably change the description and re-list it for the same price. Again, I apologize for the discrepancy. How in the world were you able to read the inscription? I tried everything and still couldn't read it. You've got great eyes!

@lillysheeka Hi there. I should get this out to you tomorrow. Yes it’s 14k as far as I know. It was a MUST when I was a teen to have one and my parents got it for me. That was about 22 years ago. It’s beautiful but I don’t wear it. I tried to find the stamp but don’t see it. One side of the claps says Italy the other has something tiny but I can’t read it. I read that some other countries don’t put a mark on it.

These old pocket watches are a crap shoot and one would be lucky to find the parts to have it serviced due to the age factor.... Do you see any hairline cracks or damage to the white front dial? @lillysheeka the outside case just need to be polished it has no damage it’s just the girls wearing up ... the white inside part is perfect no damage... I tried to look online but it’s very confusing to find the worth I see that a lot of them are 14k gold , I’m not sure about this one . So I found an expert to look at it , I will take it next week ..

@lillysheeka The counter gives them 24 hours to respond. I submitted a a question to PM support as I’ve had several offers and a bundle and wanted to be fair. So far I’ve found the typical discount to be 10-20% and started pricing my items accordingly.
