Welcome to my closet! I generally look to find unique, high-quality, secondhand clothing for my closet. Growing up I knew fast fashion was an issue, but after a few years of working at Coach and a thrift store, I saw how much waste there was going on in the textile industry. sherid10Hi. Love your closet. ALL of it but especially found the Coach items pretty interesting. I have been carrying Coach since 1989. Started with a yellow one. Had no idea what Coach even was. Best bag I ever bought. Don’t want to bore you. I’m looking for an older (like late 1990’s read. I had one and sold it because I didn’t like the inside pocket. There is a sold one if you want to look. If you ever find anything in a close color and large let me know. 😉

sherid10Yes similar to that. When the top of the bag dropped over to the side like if you set it down, the small inside pocket spilled anything that was in. Could be bigger. I like the ones with the wide straps. Lol. I’ve had several so I kind of know.

beerisfoodHi Greg, my name is Amelia. I love your Closet & since you like Coach so much I was hoping I could pick your brain on how to remove a couple of stains from a canvas style bag. Should I try a little Woolite? Should I use a soft brush to try to lift the stain? Any advice would be much appreciated. Ty!!! ~Amelia

weightthrifter@beerisfood Hey Amelia! Thanks for the comment! So it depends on certain on the type of canvas (regular jacquard, sateen, or some of the more unique graphic canvas styles). What I would say first is depending on the type size of stain I would first take some really great packing tape and stick it to the bag and peel it off and see if that can take anything off. This normally is one of the best ways without worrying about any water stains. Then normally I would try a few things after that.

weightthrifter @beerisfood 1- My first go-to is a watered down dawn or dishwashing solution. I normally take some warm water and mix it with dawn and try to get the water slightly soap and clear so it's not blue. Then from there I take normally a toothbrush and see what I can do with that. I normally do let it dry before round two. This can just help keep the amount of water to a minimum and prevent any water marks.

weightthrifter@beerisfood 2- Then I use Shout (because that is what I have around). I would say if you are nervous about it, try to test it on a bottom and see what you think after it is dry. If you find that the cleaner doesn't discolor the bag - go for it. I normally see slight signs of damage when I don't use enough cleaner and I try to use too much elbow grease.

weightthrifter@beerisfood Just make sure to let it dry when you are done. After I am done cleaning I like to take the liner and lift it out of the bag to help everything dry a little faster. Hope this helps a little. If you have a picture of the stain I can maybe give you more specific advice if you need it. Best, Greg :)

weightthrifter@beerisfood I absolutely understand. So much of the times I buy something and they really don't give me a good idea of the actual condition. Great example is the Romy I have in my closet. Never advertised for the discoloration, but I have got what I got. :) If you want you can just make a listing and post it as not for sale and tag me in it and I can see if there are any other ideas I have :)

Wristlets, in my opinion, are harder than bags just because the shipping is rough for people, so I really try to encourage a bundle with anything else in my closet. So for your listings, don't be afraid to delete them and repost them. I normally do so much better with a fresh item than I do re-sharing an old item. Especially with something like a wristlet if it didn't sell in 2 weeks definitely delete and relist.

weightthrifter@carrie2407 with your gray one, if I was searching for your wristlet I would put "Coach Gray Patent Leather Turnlock Wristlet." Also include the word turnlock and leather in your description or title. Maybe stuff the wristlet just because otherwise it photographs with a shadow. Patent leather is so difficult for me to photograph so I would just add a little newspaper in there to get rid of the shadow.

weightthrifter@carrie2407 your black chain wristlet looks great! Maybe add the dimensions if you want, or add that it comes with the original hangtag. Other than that I would just relist and keep sharing. Doesn't hurt to find the same wristlet on poshmark and follow all of the people liking that wristlet either! :)

weightthrifter@carrie2407 NWT wristlet I would change a few things. Put the style number in your description (57928), and highlight some of the keywords from the tag. "NWT Coach Colorblock Small Wristlet Rouge Leather Pink" (title?) Definitely add the word Rouge in your description at least. Such a hot search word right now for Coach. It's a great piece, you should try it at $50. I would try searching to find your exact wristlet that sold and look at that listing to get a few ideas ;) Hope this helps!

weightthrifter@srgdancarina827 Ugh that is so tough. I really personally shy away from anything that doesn't have YKK, but there are bags they have made that have a non- YKK zipper pull. Yes the vintage bags are really hard without seeing it in person especially just to feel the quality. If you have pictures, I would post them in purseforum and see what they think based on the pictures. Most vintage bags have hangtags that are embossed on both sides :)
