The jug is a 1/2 pint size (about 5” tall) with a two-tone glazed stoneware finish. Front label: “Platte Valley – Bottled in Bond – Straight Corn Whiskey – 100 Proof – Distilled in Missouri” Side marking: “Aged in the Hills – Since 1856” Federal tax stamp still partially intact on the neck Base marked: 135-53 11-D-16 / U.S.A. These jugs were originally sold filled with whiskey and sealed with a paper tax stamp.
