Spread collar can be worn wide or buttoned up. Cozy and stylish for any occasion. The only “flaw” is that the collar appears to have had the capacity to button even higher?, i.e., there are two small button holes but no corresponding buttons on the other side (which would have been quite heavy for the collar) so I’m assuming the buttons were removed.
