Marc Jacobs 2009 wraparound sash / belt, black, gold, and metallic purple stripe

From my favorite Marc Jacobs runway collection - Spring 2009 ready to wear. Theme was “American meets Paris” and the sparkly metallic fabric sash was a key piece, cinching the waist and often secured with a very punk oversize safety pin. A cool vintage brooch would also work great and look cool. Purple, gold and black metallic thread creates stripes against a black linen fabric. You could pair it with a solid colored dress to punch it up or go the full Marc Jacobs look and mix it with plaid and/or brocades. There is a 2” button hole at the center point of this long sash so you can pull the fabric through for a tighter fit. The 5-1/4” width gives it the look of a Japanese obi when worn.
