Soon after, Dave Jelsma was recruited for Bass Guitar. Through the years Malignant Inception has gone through many lineup changes. In 1995, after going in the studio and being dissatisfied with the outcome, MI removed Steve Lea from drums and recruited Tim Riley. With Chad now singing, Ed playing guitar, Tim on drums and Dave on bass, MI started re-writing the old and writing the new. A year and a half later they went into the studio to record their 11 song debut album entitled 'Black Death' and released it in early 1997 on Casset
