Hand-carved sculpture in Macassar Ebony, a richly grained tropical hardwood with dark heartwood and contrasting bands of golden brown. The figure depicts a woman in prayer, with elongated proportions and a serene, stylized face. A stippling pattern across the chest adds subtle texture and craftsmanship. Possibly a Makonde carving from Tanzania, dating to the 1930s, though origin is unconfirmed.
