MOTTAHEDEH Vista Alegre PORTUGAL ‘Golden Butterfly’ MASTER SALT DISH / Fabulous!

Mottahedeh was founded in 1929 in New York City as an importer of fine china and porcelain. This master salt dish is a reproduction of an antique Chinese pattern from the 1700’s. It was made by Vista Alegre in Portugal, a highly-respected porcelain manufacturer in business since 1824. The stunning pattern is called “Golden Butterfly” and is entirely hand painted with lots of glowing gold leaf. The salt dish, which is also big enough to use as a small soap dish, measures 4.25 inches long by 3.25 inches wide by 1 3/8 inches tall. It is in excellent condition (see photos).
